~ Call past hostesses

Always grow your contact list. Instead of just handing out a business card, ask for the person’s name and phone number and set a day and time to call her. Try to make at 3- 5 calls per day for bookings and recruits. Do this faithfully and assure yourself a full date book.

~ Give out your catalog or brochures at dentist, doctors, the bank or anywhere you do business. 

~ Show on the Go. Use a small roll up make-up bag to keep in the car or business bag that has a couple of lockets and maybe a tagged creation or two.  (Make sure to always have order forms, catalogs and any thing else you need to process an order for someone on the spot!) When someone compliments the locket you are wearing offer to show her more... 

~ At a party, offer the hostess an additional gift when she re-books herself with-in 6 months. 

~ Send a catalog to a co-worker that has moved.

~ Send a catalog to consultants of other companies you know or Exchange Shows.

~ Post a catalog in the teachers lounge at your child’s school.

~ Post a catalog in the employee lunch room.

~ Have a booth a school fair.

~ Advertise in your Alumni newsletter and or local newspaper.

~ Plan an open house in your home and invite your neighbors, friends & family. Have a Mystery Hostess drawing; this is where you award the hostess credits to one of the guests.

~ Schedule to set up at trade shows, fairs, expos, events. Check on local activities and reserve well in advance. Consult our P & P on policies. Have a drawing for a small prize, this assures you many names and phone numbers to call as booking and recruit leads.

~ Advertise as Origami Owl allows in local newspapers, penny-savers, on restaurant placemats, etc.

~ Include a flyer or business card with your bill payments.

~ Put current catalog in your neighbors door. Include a 10% off coupon.

~ Advertise in your church bulletin.

~ Host an office party or brunch.

~ Host a show before or during a PTA meeting.

~ Host your own fundraiser show. It could benefit your favorite charity.

~ Participate in a school fund raiser.

~ Have your husband or significant other promote the products at work.

~ Hold a Christmas shopping party for men.

~ Offer a Christmas wish list to your guest and then contact the gift giver.

~ Hold an opportunity night and /or Set up at Career Fairs.

~ Treat Hostesses to a special Hostess appreciation tea.

~ Encourage relatives to book a show.

~ Follow through on every booking lead.

~ Ask, Ask, Ask

~ Be willing to share the business opportunity with EVERYONE.

~ Call anyone who has said maybe or sometime.

~ Leave your business cards on bulletin boards or in local businesses.

~ Talk about upcoming specials with everyone.

~ Keep a list of special requests and let those guest know when that product is on sale.

~ Suggest hosting a show to do Christmas shopping with out leaving home.

~ Offer a bonus for hostesses who book on days or months you need and extra show.

~ Give extra service and time to good customers-they will be repeat hostesses and potential consultants.

~ Let guests keep a catalog or sales brochure to keep on hand or pass around work.

~ Love what you do! Smile!

~ Use open ended questions, especially when dealing with bookings.

~ Read sales, self improvement, and positive thinking books.

~ Call at least two potential hostesses every night.

~ Dream BIG and imagine the possibilities

~ Set goals and review them constantly, post them where you can see them.

~ Ask friends to help you get started or reach a certain goal.

~ Use hostess flyers. EVERYWHERE.

~ Follow up phone calls to particularly interested guests. They may decide later to have a show.

~ Give products as gifts or donations.

~ Don’t be shy talking about your products or business.

~ Smile when talking on the phone.

~ Review orders from the past shows–who have bought frequently, etc.

~ Be prepared to answer questions about your work.

~ Call potential hostesses who postponed or never booked.

~ Spend time every day working on some aspect of your business.
